STAR provides fully engineered software systems and services of Numerical Weather Prediction and related sciences with a focus on providing high-resolution, localized weather, for the entity that needs better, localized weather. Our core software products include customized solutions that expedite NWP (using WRF) and are extensible to include local observations and other community-validated models to meet the various demands of weather consumers. Our scientific expertise include NWP, Data Assimilation, Transport and Dispersion, Source-term Estimation, Climatology Analysis, and Urban-scale modeling. Our software engineering is focused on closing the gap of research to operations, to ensure the latest science is available to the users, while coding to current standards and ensuring a user-focused User Interface. Our IT Architects specialize in cloud and on-premises compute platforms and will ensure the systems operate in internet connected and air-gapped environments.
