As the Owner of Educators Heart Consulting, my capabilities include a B.A. Psychology, Masters in Educational Leadership, and over 27 years of educational experience. My mission is to provide high-quality support to school leaders and educators through whole school training, online and onsite visits with follow-up, and individual consultations. I specialize in emotional management strategies, trauma-informed teaching, and teacher self-care. Trauma-informed practices include creating environments in which students feel supported and can thrive. These practices also focus on building social-emotional competencies for students to empower all who are affected by adversity and help them cope with trauma. Teachers need social-emotional competencies in order to model and foster these skills in their students. I advocate that school leaders and teachers embrace high-quality self-care and mental health awareness.
