Lea Medical Therapies LLC, is a tier one medical provider with core competencies in, critical care, pain management, brain injury and burn management. Led by Dr. Dallas Lea, Lea Medical Therapies was contracted by the U.S. Department of Justice to provide expert medical review and testimony for a major federal criminal investigation and prosecution of suspected Medicare fraud organizations in New York. As part of the contract with DOJ, Dr. Lea and LMT analyzed over 10,000 pages of medical billing statements and records to determine if the billing statements matched the level of service allegedly provided. In addition, Dr. Lea analyzed video tapes of multiple patient encounters and therapy sessions to determine if those visits met the physician standard of care required for the specific diagnosis for which the government was being billed. As a result of Dr. Lea and LMT ?participation in this case, the defendants plead guilty to the charges of Medicare fraud.
