The goal of this program was to demonstrate the technology to build a K-band solid-state 1.2KW amplifier having characteristics of graceful degradation. To that end, our approach was to develop GaN Power Amplifier MMICs with the highest output power possible, along with a novel spatial combining technique to achieve the output power beyond the limitations of standard coaxial and microstrip implementations.
